Skype for Business

Microsoft offers a broad UC solution set under the umbrella brand of Skype for Business (SfB, formerly Lync).

The on-premises UC solution is Skype for Business Server. The cloud UC solution is Skype for Business Online, which is licensed as part of the Office 365 portfolio. The Server deployment has significantly more PBX and telephony capabilities than the Online configuration, so it is critical to distinguish between these two offers. There is also a Hybrid option to bridge on premise and cloud deployments.

Skype for Business is a fantastic option for organisations already heavily leveraged within the Microsoft ecosystem – coupled with Microsoft Office users benefit from a seamless experience with native integration throughout the suite.

The team at Fuse have worked with Skype for Business since its infancy several years ago when Lync 2010 was released and Microsoft Lync (formerly OCS) was for the first time accepted to be a true UC offering. With the extensive experience working on these products we are well positioned to meet your Skype for Business needs, to see some of our work check out our case studies here.
